The symphonic music and symphonic coral, like activities that take place and are enjoyed together, contribute to the eradication of the violence and of the expressions seudo cultural tied to her.
The Orchestra has offered the opportunity to realize his first concerts as soloists to musical young people who now are real musical values both nationally and internationally. The Orchestra offers also the opportunity to some young students of music of the city, of realizing practices in the Band under the tutorship of the Chiefs of group; also it realizes workshops for his instrumentalists.
The city of Medellin has decorated in several occasions the Philharmonic one under different municipal governments and has declared her a cultural heritage of the city.
The Orchestra is shaped at present by 67 musicians of instruments classified under ropes and winds. The ropes are violins, violas, violoncellos, and double basses, and the winds are horns, clarinets, oboes, bassoons, flutes, trumpets, trombonists, tuba and the percussion.
The administrative area is composed by 14 persons of the different departments who are: direction, management, administrative, accounting, communications, papers, human resources, general services, courier service and production.
